F.A.Q(Frequently Asked Questions)

What is Sportsmeister?

Imagine a one-system solution that streamlines all of your tasks as a co-curricular Administrator and halves the workload required. Imagine a system where you can reuse information from meet to meet, year to year, competition to competition, and carnival to carnival without constantly having to re-enter student data. Sportsmeister is an online system designed and developed
by sports administrators, coaches, and teachers to limit workload by making workflow much more efficient and limiting the continual use of spreadsheets, documents, noticeboards, and shoe leather to gather data for use in your sports program.

At the heart of Sportsmeister is the SMART ID number that is a unique identifier for each athlete in your program. This ID number moves with the athlete and never changes over their entire sporting career from Under 7’s to the Olympic Games. Athletes can update their own custom, unique webpage with their own individual exploits and results via text or video into a sports magazine style webpage which is all about them. Administrators, sport co-ordinators and coaches can communicate with their teams via notifications, calendars and weekly or season draws that ensure that athletes are fully aware of upcoming fixtures, venues and possible date clashes.

In short no, Sportsmeister is for all teachers. It can be used to organize any co-curricular event where groups of students are involved. This could be Choir, string ensemble, musical productions, robotics clubs, mathletes, e-sports, ecogroups, or cadets. Whilst it is primarily designed for sports teams, the round-robin and knockout meet creation aspects make it ideal for things like debating tournaments or spelling bees.

Sportsmeister has been designed by teachers with student welfare in mind. Students can only ever see their own page as it is password-protected and all data is stored on a secure server located in Brisbane. Our privacy policy guarantees that this data will NEVER be available to third parties. Passwords are easily reset and should a student wish to share their page with relatives or friends they will need to share a personal access pin with them via some other means of communication. This ensures that the viewer of the read-only webpage has some type of personal relationship to the student and acts as two two-step verification. Students can also change this pin should they feel access may have been compromised.

At Sportsmeister we are teachers and we know how strained school budgets are. For this reason, we have included a full access 30-day trial for schools and always pro-rata access based on when your school pays. We have also included multiple access tiers (depending on the size of the school), from $19 per month. If your school chooses not to go ahead with the administration side of the portal then students are still able to keep their sports-style website and use it as they see fit for both club and school activities. We will be constantly tweaking the system based on administrator feedback and optimizing for mobile phone access.

Sportsmeister is designed to be extremely user-friendly and graphically rich so that all users find the hierarchical nature both efficient and pleasurable to use. With its built-in search filters, any information can be retrieved from the database easily and quickly by administrators. Students love the graphical nature of their webpage with its own media gallery, calendar, and RSS feed of their favorite clubs and upcoming events. Administrators love the fact that students and parents can enter their own nominations for upcoming meets and easily print programs and rosters. Administrators can even make groups of schools and clubs with other administrators to form associations and representative teams. Venues, officials, coaches, and teams can be added and removed as required by coordinators of sports and administrators.

We have a comprehensive YouTube channel which is updated with “how to” videos based on requests by users. If by chance you can’t find something simply leave a comment and we will point you in the right direction or add that functionality to the site. You can visit it by clicking here

Simply head to our pricing plan page and click on the left column to enter your school or club details and an email will be sent to you with a walkthrough of how to set it up. The way we have structured the site is for one main administrator to act as the central administrator and for it to follow a hierarchical model of user access. Administrators can add sports then coordinators for each sport, co-ordinators and administrators can add teams and coaches, and administrators, co-ordinators, and coaches can add athletes to their team by SMART number. Administrators can add or remove users and assign user roles as needed and users can choose to use Sportsmeister at a chosen level provided they have multiple-level access.
